Friday, 08 September 2006 03:00
The biggest IPTV deployment in Russia - StreamTV (MTU-Intel IPTV service) has just launched VoD service when StreamTV converted ‘Virtual cinema’ service (pay-per-view or near VoD) to real VoD capabilities. StreamTV plans to enlarge VoD content significantly with local movies and international bestsellers as well as educational, music, and other content.

The company is going to achieve 50% attach rate for the new service from existing installed base already in a few coming months.

«According to other service providers, VoD is a very good basis for additional IPTV service development and ARPU growth. Following the industry best practice, we also believe that VoD service is a starting point for next generation interactive services which are based on personalized content delivery», - Grigory Novitsky, MTU-Intel CEO said.

The project was done by MTU-Intel with close cooperation with Kasenna, Hewlett-Packard, Netris and OCS companies.
