Netris, a Russian leader in IP-communications software development and system integration presents new product IPSoft Distributed Media Architecture at world-famous exhibition and conference IBC2007 to be held 7-11 September in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. IPSoft Distributed Media Architecture (DMA) is a unique tool to provide flexibility and redundancy of such an important IPTV service as Video on Demand (VoD). Netris’s application enables networks optimization and reduces the number of VoD servers involved in the deployment. Main tasks to solve with IPSoft DMA –it redirects or proxies STB request to VoD servers, checks content availability and distributes content from central video server to local video servers. “We have already installed a prototype of IPSoft DMA in a large deployment and it was a successful experience”, explains Netris CTO Murad Efendiev. “Initially DMA was designed for RTSP requests redirecting. But now its functionality grows. We added a new component – DMA Agent which uploads on every VoD server to use multicast broadcasting to distribute content from central video server to local servers. It shortens time for uploading movies and enables operators to create flexible and target offerings to subscribers.” Netris presents IPSoft DMA at booth 12P.243 during IBC2007. |
