Netris Yields Good Results at IBC2009

Netris, a leader in software development and integration for IP communications, has summarized the results of IBC2009. During the show the company presented a full range of products and services for digital television deployment. The main focus of the Netris’ display was made on Hybrid DVB-C/T solutions, Internet TV and mobile services.

IPSoft iStream Mobile is an IBC debutant. This video server is designed for content delivery to mobile devices. During the show this solution was very popular with the IBC visitors because Mobile TV to be rolled out with the use of GPRS, EDGE, EVDO, WiFi, WiMAX Internet connections has many benefits for operators. As well Netris offered special technology that decreases the server loading and allows to provide more subscribers with Mobile services. As a result the volume of the investments for broadcasting platform deployment declines several times.

Netris made special accent on unique features of IPSoft iStream Video Server. This solution is designed 'by the industry for the industry' and provides encrypted content delivery (VoD and other top value-added services including Progressive Downloading features) both within operator network and over broadband Internet.

IPSoft iVision PC Solution had new advanced features as well. PC Client supports Pause Live TV, DVR and Progressive Downloading. Program schedule is presented as Grid EPG that makes it easy to select a program and record it. Therefore Netris developed an end-to-end solution to provide encrypted content delivery over Internet and watch it with a special player installed on a user’s PC. Speaking about business model it can be considered as an e-shop model to sell content both for downloading or broadcasting. IPSoft iVision PC Solution uses CA/DRM components for content protection. During the show visitors could observe IPSoft iVision PC Solution based on Verimatrix and SecureMedia software solutions.

Key Netris’ product IPSoft iVision IPTV Middleware was displayed with a broaden functionality:

Hybrid DVB-С/Т;
Speed Channel Switching;
Combined architecture with user interface high performance and open standard use;
Catch up (Pause Live TV).
