IPSoft iStream: A New Video Server For Interactive Television

Netris, a Russian leader in IP-communications software development and system integration presented today its VoD Server IPSoft iStream to be developed for ISPs and operators to keep costs under control. The Video Server supports such poplar services as Video on Demand, Near Video on Demand, Network Personal Video Recording and Time-Shifting. Special feature of IPSoft iStream is supporting of Broadcasting over Internet which enables subscribers to unveil new sides of TV services. And operators in this case are able to get revenue from any internet user.

IPSoft iStream is a complete software platform for content recording, storage and broadcasting over IP-network. Among key benefits of Netris solution can be called open standards supporting that allows the Video Server to be easily integrated into IPTV Solution. IPSoft iStream can be installed in an IPTV system where other video server brands have already been installed. Netris developed a special product - IPSoft Distributed Media Architecture (DMA) that is in charge for RTSP requests redirection, content distribution via unicast/multicast broadcasting and one of its functions is working with different RTSP dialects. Thanks to it an operator can combine several VoD brands on the network.

IPSoft iStream is debuting at IBC2008 show to be held 12-16 September in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
