Tymen region CCTV video analytics project won Project of the year contest

The project Artificial Intelligence based video analytics by Tyumen region Informatization department has won the GlobalCIO|DigitalExperts professional community Project of the year prize in nomination Video surveillance and automatic cognition.

The Tyumen region CCTV platform developer is Netris, which is Smart cities, regions and major business video surveillance Competence Center. The project major purpose is better human safety through complex video analytics implication. The result is video analytics subplatform based on Tyumen region software-hardware platform, which employs various video analytics program units, such as face recognition and car number plates recognition. Also, other algorythms of other vendors can be integrated.

The implied car models, types, traffic video analysis algorythms provide data for high range of tasks: regional safety, municipal districts traffic flows and traffic infrastructure management. Also, the implied car number plates and face recognition algorythms are highly appreciated by Tyumen region Police departments. The system is used for criminal investigation higher efficiency.

We have huge growth plans: we are going to extend the system video coverage. We are going to detect no-number-plate-cars and transmit the data to special notification and reaction module. Also, we develop the opportunity to detect the freight carried by cargo vehicles. Tyumen region CCTV system has been actively developing since 2016. Currently, it has over 2800 cameras, of which 440 are connected to video analytics modules. The data from those cameras go to the Tyumen region Single Data Center for storage and processing. The unite regional CCTV system access and management portal provides access rights differentiation for various system modules. Also, the system supports mobile video streaming with face recognition and car number plates, marks and models recognition functions.
